Turf 3 Recycling
Give the Nunweek 3 turf a second life!
As part of the upcoming Nunweek Turf 3 redevelopment, the existing turf will be recycled this October!
Rather than simply disposing of the turf, we are looking to give it a second life within our community.
The turf will be available for individuals, community organisations, and groups who may be able to reuse it for suitable projects such as community spaces, recreational areas, landscaping or other appropriate applications.
What will be available?
Turf:
- 1.8m wide x 14m to 27.5m long
- Weight approximately 15kg/m² (so each roll 350kg to 700kg)
Underlay:
- 1.2m wide × 29.5m long
- Weight approximately 215kg per roll
The turf won’t be cut to order, but will be labelled with approximate sizes, and rolled up ready for collection.
Important collection requirement: These are very heavy rolls. Recipients will need to have suitable transport to safely and legally accommodate the weight. A forklift will be available for loading.
Collection Dates: Labour Weekend, 24th to 25th October 2026
