Secondary Schools Competition
The Canterbury Hockey Secondary School Competition provides school hockey opportunities for players in Year 9 to Year 13.
Players represent their school in this competition, with teams entered and managed directly by each school. Schools are responsible for team entries, trials, selections, coaching, and communication with players and families. If a student would like to play secondary school hockey, they should contact their school sport coordinator or teacher in charge of hockey.
The competition runs throughout the winter season, beginning in early May and finishing in late August. Teams compete across Secondary School Premier and Secondary School League grades, with all games played in a full field, 11 aside format.
Secondary School Hockey gives players the opportunity to represent their school, compete alongside their classmates, and continue developing their skills in a team environment.
