Block Two

Apply to join Block Two of the Canterbury Performance Centre programme.

The Centre provides high-quality development opportunities for Canterbury CPL, Division 1 and SSP players. Players must be over 16 years as of 1^st January 2023.

The Centre aligns with Canterbury representative and Hockey NZ pathways. Hockey NZ Performance coach, Aaron Ford and Canterbury Hockey’s Talent Development Manager, Chris Leslie lead the delivery of the programme.

Levels

There are two levels of entry to the programme.

• Senior - Blacksticks, JBS, NHC and CPL players.
• Emerging Talent – Division 1 and SSP players

Aim

The primary aim is to develop well prepared players that are:

• Technically skilled
• Tactically smart
• Mentally prepared
• Physically capable
• Have life balance

Programme Timing and Delivery

The programme will run for 6 weeks commencing Monday 16^th January and finishing Wednesday 22^nd February 2023.

Sessions Days and Times

Mondays: 6:00pm-7:30pm (Men) and 7:30pm-9:00pm (Women)

Wednesdays: 6:00pm-7:30pm (Women) and 7:30pm-9:00pm (Men)

You can register for one session or both sessions each week. Your registration fee will be adjusted accordingly.

Programme Content

Sessions to include

• Exercises to enhance core skills
• Conceptional training that encourage players to implement skills in offensive and defensive scenarios
• Games where players are given the opportunity to execute skills in match situations and make good decisions under pressure
• Specialist goal keeping training
• Specific conditioning component (Mondays)

Registration Fees - GST Inclusive

One session per week: $150.00

Two sessions per week: $300.00
