Player Development Programmes
Canterbury Hockey provides a range of player development opportunities to support players as they progress through different stages of their hockey journey.
These programmes sit alongside regular club and school hockey, giving players additional opportunities to develop their skills, grow their game understanding, build confidence, and experience different training, festival, and tournament environments.
The pathway begins with development opportunities for younger players, including U13 Festivals and Development Camps, before progressing into U16 tournament opportunities and more targeted development environments such as Accelerators and Alpiners Academy.
Each programme has a different purpose, age group, and level of commitment. Some are designed to provide broad development experiences for players looking to keep improving, while others are more focused on preparing players for higher levels of competition.
Players do not need to take part in every programme to continue progressing. These opportunities are designed to support players at different ages, stages, and levels of interest.
