Sunday League
Sunday League is part of Canterbury Hockey’s Open Grade competition structure and provides a structured senior club competition played on Sundays.
For many players, Sunday League is the first step from youth club hockey into senior hockey, with a number of players progressing into this grade from the Platinum Division. It provides an important bridge into Open Grade hockey, giving younger players the opportunity to adjust to senior competition in a supportive but competitive environment.
The grade also includes adult players who want to continue playing regular weekend hockey at a level that suits them. This creates a unique mix of developing players and experienced players, with teams still competing in a structured 11 aside format throughout the winter season.
Sunday League offers a balance of competitive hockey and accessible weekend participation, making it a valuable part of the Canterbury Hockey club pathway.

Breaks: 2 minute intervals between quarters 1 and 2, and quarters 3 and 4, with a 5 minute half time interval between quarters 2 and 3
