Mid Week

Mid Week Open is part of Canterbury Hockey’s Open Grade competition structure and provides senior club hockey opportunities during the week.

This competition is an important option for players who are unable to play on weekends, or who prefer a midweek playing commitment. It has become one of Canterbury Hockey’s fastest growing competition spaces, offering a flexible way for players to stay involved in regular, structured club hockey.

Mid Week Open includes multiple divisions in both the men’s and women’s competitions, allowing teams to compete at a level that suits their players. Division 1 provides a strong competitive environment for players who still want a high level of hockey, including many who have previously played in CPL or Division 1. Other divisions provide opportunities for players who are looking for a more social experience, while still being part of an organised competition.

The grade includes a wide range of players, most commonly university aged players, adults, returning players, and masters players who want to continue playing hockey in a format that fits their lifestyle.
