Canterbury Premier League
The Canterbury Premier League, commonly referred to as CPL, is Canterbury Hockey’s highest level of senior club competition.
CPL features the top men’s and women’s club teams in Canterbury and is home to many of the region’s leading players, including current and former Black Sticks, Junior Black Sticks, New Zealand A, Premier Hockey League (PHL) players, and standout secondary school players.
Both the men’s and women’s CPL competitions continue to build a strong reputation nationally, with a high standard of hockey played each week throughout the winter season. The quality and depth of the competition make CPL an exciting environment for players, coaches, officials, clubs, and supporters.
For many players, CPL represents the top level of weekly club hockey in Canterbury and provides a challenging, competitive platform to test themselves against some of the best players in the region.

Game length: 4 x 15 minute quarters
Breaks: 2 minute intervals between quarters 1 and 2, and quarters 3 and 4, with a 5 minute half time interval between quarters 2 and 3
