Masters Hockey
Canterbury Masters Hockey has a proud tradition of competitive hockey, strong social connection, and long-standing involvement from players across the region.
The local Canterbury Masters Competition is a highlight of the summer season, with more than 30 teams competing across a range of grades. The competition provides opportunities for players to stay active, remain connected to the hockey community, and continue enjoying the game in a competitive but social environment.
The Canterbury Masters Competition also plays an important role in supporting the representative master’s pathway, providing a strong local competition leading into the National Masters Tournament.
The competition is loosely club based and is played on Thursday nights across two rounds, either side of Christmas and New Year. Round One runs from mid-October to mid-December, before Round Two resumes in mid-January and continues through to late February.
Players must meet the relevant age requirements to participate in the local Canterbury Masters Competition. Women must be 30 years or older, and men must be 35 years or older.
