U13 Extension | Mainland Festivals 2026

Canterbury Hockey will create teams following the registration process. Teams will train for one hour once a week on either a Monday or Wednesday, with training times confirmed after registrations close. Trainings will begin approximately three weeks before each festival.

The cost is $85 per player, which covers turf hire, gear and administration costs.

All players will also need to purchase a red Canterbury Paladin training tee from Just Hockey, as this will be used as the team playing shirt:

Year 7 Festival Day

• The Year 7 Festival Day will be held on Saturday 12 September in Timaru
• The festival will include teams from Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury and will be played in a 7 aside format
• Alongside the hockey, there will be other things happening around the turfs to make this a fun and enjoyable day
• Teams will train together in preparation, starting the week of 24^th August (three weeks of training before the event)

Year 8 Festival

• The Year 8 Festival will be held from Friday 25 September to Sunday 27 September in Christchurch.
• The festival will be played in an 11 aside format, giving players an opportunity to experience and develop their understanding of the full field game for the very first time
• Teams from Canterbury, Mid Canterbury and South Canterbury will attend, with Marlborough and the West Coast also expected to be attending
• Teams will train together in preparation, starting the week of 31^st August (three weeks of training before the event)
