About the Canterbury Hockey Community Impact Foundation
The Canterbury Hockey Community Impact Fund is an evolution and continuation of the work done by the Canterbury Hockey Supporters Club and the Umpire Development Trust. The Foundation has been created to manage and grow the fund through annual donations and fundraising events and approve and allocate funding on an annual basis.
The overall goal of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to our community of players, officials, volunteers, clubs and schools to support a range of initiatives and innovative thinking to help grow our wonderful game.
Who is a good fit?
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is involved in the CHA community, and interested in growing our game and benefiting our community.
The Foundation seeks Trustees with a broad background and passion for our wonderful game. While a range of skills would be welcome, those with organisational and event management experience would be of particular interest, as would demonstration of the following attributes:
- An interest in hockey development
- Established connections within the Canterbury Hockey community
- A general understanding of the charitable sector
- An interest in being involved in the development of fundraising activities
Time commitment:
Trustee positions are on a voluntary basis with the Trustees meeting approximately 5 times per year. Trustees are responsible for approving and allocating funding on an annual basis, as well as organising fundraising activities and potentially meeting with donors to assist with the growth of the fund. Trustees are also encouraged to attend the Foundation events and fundraising activities.
The Trustee positions are voluntary and roles are generally for a term of 3 years.
