Club Hockey - Youth/Senior

The Canterbury Hockey Senior Club Hockey Competition runs throughout winter, beginning in April and finishing in late August. The Senior Club Hockey Competition caters for players aged 15 and up.

The Canterbury Hockey Platinum Youth Competition is an increasingly growing and competitive grade of Hockey for Secondary school aged participants. The Canterbury Hockey Rules and Regulations requires all Year 9 and 10 players that play Club Hockey to play in this grade. As per the Canterbury Hockey Competitions pathway it is also encouraged that the majority of Year 11s play in the Platinum Youth Competition as well.

Platinum Youth

Canterbury Premier League (CPL)

 

Canterbury's highest grade, includes former and current Black Sticks, Junior Black Sticks, and top secondary school players, We select our Canterbury Rep teams from this grade.

  • 4 x 15 minute quarters, 2 minute interval between quarters 1 & 2 and 3 & 4, and a half-time interval of 5

Division 1

 

Second hightest division. Mostly a mix of secondary school players, university students, and high performing adult players.

A slightly more social but still competitive grade, a mix of secondary school players, university student, and adults.

A social grade played on grass, like it was played in the past.
