Te Waiponamu Māori Hockey are a non-profit organization governed by New Zealand Maori Hockey Inc. They rely solely on their volunteers, sponsorship, and koha to promote and develop tikanga Maori and whanaungatanga through Maori Hockey.

National Māori Tournament
The National Tournament is held every year over Labour Weekend and is an official listing on the NZ Hockey Federation calendar of events.

The teams representing NZ Māori are chosen from the Annual National Māori Hockey Tournament.
NZ Heritage Hockey Tournament
EASTER WEEKEND
New Zealand Heritage Hockey was created to support the growth and participation levels in the sport of hockey – with a particular focus on underrepresented ethnic groups. Maori, Pasifika and New Zealand Indians.
