Hockey Without Limits
Canterbury Hockey is delighted to be apart of the Halberg Foundations inclusion programme for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. This programme is for Primary, Intermediate and High School aged students.
Hockey Without Limits was developed to promote hockey as a 'sport for all'. Engagement in sport not only has a positive impact on the physical body and mental well-being but also is effective in connecting all people - regardless of skill level or ability - and encouraging increased interaction with peers.
The Objectives:
- To create opportunities to develop hockey skills and an understanding of the game of hockey, through fun activities, over a specific time period
- Modified and adapted hockey equipment, activities, and game format to meet the needs of the participants
- Provide a stress-free, inclusive learning enviroment that encourages independence, self-confidence and communication
