Vantage National Masters 2025

 

Canterbury delivered an impressive performance at the recent Vantage National Masters Tournament in Whangārei, securing five medals - three gold, one silver, and one bronze - during the tournament held over the final week of February.

 

With four teams reaching their Grand Finals and another four competing in third/fourth place playoffs, Canterbury made a strong impact at the tournament.

 

Several players stood out as top goal scorers across their divisions. Malcolm Brown led the way for the 70s Men, while Jono Pooch dominated the 40s Men with an incredible 12 goals. On the women’s side, Katherine Pierce claimed the top scorer title for the 55s Women.

 

Final Placings Men:

  • Canterbury M35 – 3rd Place
  • Canterbury M40 – 1st Place
  • Canterbury M55 – 4th Place
  • Canterbury M60 – 5th Place
  • Canterbury M65 – 2nd Place
  • Canterbury M70 – 1st Place


Final Placings Women:

  •  Canterbury W35 – 5th Place
  • Canterbury W40 – 4th Place
  • Canterbury W45 – 7th Place
  • Canterbury W50 – 1st Place
  • Canterbury W55 – 4th Place
  • Canterbury/South Canterbury W65 – 4th Place

After a successful year re-establishing the cafe at Nunweek Park for the hockey community, The 5th Quarter Cafe and Bar are looking for an experienced cafe manager or contractor for the 2024 season.
