Nominations for the Youth Leader Certificate 2021 now open!
June 21, 2021
World Olympic Day is globally celebrated every year on 23 June to promote participation in sport, regardless of one's age, gender, or athletic ability, and to celebrate, Hockey New Zealand, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Oceania Hockey Federation are calling for nominations for the FIH Youth Leader Certificate.
This certificate recognises young hockey leaders under Hockey New Zealand's Year of the Youth theme, which aims to inspire young people to take up hockey, help them achieve their potential and celebrate their successes at every level of the game. This is part of a global drive to grow and develop the game for the next generation of our hockey community.
The judging panel is looking to recognise qualities in a Youth Leader such as self-discipline, self-motivation, honesty, the ability to set goals, a good attitude, and professionalism.
Nominees must be 14-19 years old and have taken on one or more leadership positions over the last 2 years. Clubs, schools and associations can nominate for the certificate.
Entries close at 5pm, Friday 9 July.
