Please rest assured that player welfare and all legislative requirements will be at the forefront as we develop our plans. The plans will be communicated to the associations asap.

Hospitality at Tauranga Hockey Centre: Finger and Fork Café and Catering, Food Trucks @ the Village Green
THA is creating a “Village Green” between Moana turf and Tahatai turfs. There will be food trucks, coffee carts and our main bar. Finger and Fork café will be open on-site in our pavilion each day providing a selection of hot/cold food and drinks. Please note that as part of THA's special licence to sell alcohol over the tournament, no alcohol is to be brought into the facility.
Beach Theme for Thursday Night’s Social
We are embracing the beach vibe in Mt Maunganui. Get your beach-themed outfits ready for the social that will be held at the Tauranga Hockey Centre on our Village Green on Thursday 4 March.
Physiotherapy at Tauranga Hockey Centre and Tauranga Boys' College
Avenues Physio-Fitness is THA’s preferred physiotherapy services supplier for both players and officials. They will be offering services at both the Tauranga Hockey Centre and in their main clinic at 575 Cameron Road which is 100m from Tauranga Boys’ College. They encourage pre-bookings for all services to ensure players can be treated at times to co-ordinate with their scheduled games. Please note that bookings each day are taken on a “first in, first served basis”. They will also provide a “drop-in” physiotherapy service at the Village Green for strapping and acute injury management.
The tournament physiotherapy services will all be conducted by sports-focussed physiotherapists who all have extensive hockey experience with three of their therapists current or previous NHL or NZ physiotherapists. If you are aware of any player that requires physiotherapy during the tournament, please liaise with Avenues Physio-Fitness by email (physio@avenuesphysiofitness.co.nz) or on 0275790430 or (07) 5790421.
Massage Services
Massage Services will be provided by iFix Massage. Their team of massage therapists will be onsite at the Village Green throughout the tournament. Visit their website https://ifixmassage.co.nz/ for more details.
Associations Bringing a Physio or Massage Therapist to Tournament
Please advise us if you have a physio or massage therapist coming to tournament and require an onsite space for a tent. We are finalising our site map that includes a space allowance and specific area for tents. Please advise before 20 February the dimensions of any tent you want to have inside the facility. If your tent has not been registered with us, you are likely to be further away from the action! There will be security keeping our facility safe each night.
First Aid
ProMed will again be on-site to provide first aid services for injuries. NB this is not a massage service.
Ice Baths and Paddling Pools
There are no ice baths available in the changing rooms at Tauranga Hockey Centre and Tauranga Boys’ College. Teams are welcome to bring in their own inflatable paddling pools to the hockey centre’s designated grass areas. Klassic Ice will have a chiller onsite and we will be selling ice for you to put in your paddling pools.
Programmes
Hockey NZ will be providing a limited number of programmes that will also be available online. We are researching what handouts will also be available (eg draws, team lists etc). More information will follow.
Photography
BW Media will be on-site. Information about the services & available packages will be advertised asap on the tab on our website.

Trustpower has maintained its free wi-fi at our hockey centre. Connect to “Trustpower Public wi-fi”.
New Zealand vs Australia T20, Sunday 7 March 2021
NZ Cricket has announced its 2021 Black Caps schedule. The game will be played at Bay Oval, our next-door neighbour (see photo on front page). There may be restrictions to turf and village access on Friday 5 March and Saturday 6 March as the Oval sets up all its services.
Match Balls
Tauranga Hockey will supply all Kookaburra match balls that umpires will be responsible for.
Draw and Pre-tournament Practice Times
The draw is provided by HNZ and will be published on our website as soon as it is available. Practice turf is available on Saturday 27 February from 1– 6pm. Turf is booked via Andrea (admin@tgahockey.co.nz) and will be invoiced after the tournament at $60 (incl GST) per hour/per half turf. Half hour bookings are also possible.

There will be medical and ProMed first aid staff at Tauranga Hockey Centre while games are being played. A comprehensive list of medical service providers including emergency clinics, physiotherapy and dental care will be published and will be on display in the Tauranga Hockey Centre pavilion.
