Nine years on and we are finally back on our own turfs!
Last night our Regional Performance Centre girls were the first to train on the brand new turf at Nga Puna Wai. According to RPC Manger Chris Leslie turf #1 is an excellent surface and should provide us with some quality hockey going forward. The water guns were up and running but as yet the lights are out of action and the boys, who trained later, had to cut short their session due to fading light.
Work is still being done on the changing rooms and the social hub, but it is fantastic to see some hockey being played at the hub. We cannot use the turfs for competitions or practices until the new year due to these supporting facilities not being completed.
Hayden Cox caught the bus and skateboarded to Nga Puna Wai to be the first person to score a goal on turf #1.
