Hockey New Zealand announced today (Nov. 5) that early bird tickets are now on sale for the 2020 FIH Hockey Pro League presented by Sentinel Homes. These tickets are available until Friday, November 29, at which point the standard price will kick in.

With both teams now qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the FIH Hockey Pro League will serve as a vital part of their 2020 campaign as they begin their quest for a medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The FIH Hockey Pro League returns for its second season as our Vantage Black Sticks Men and Women begin their campaign at North Harbour Hockey’s new facility on Saturday, February 1.

Harbour will play host to the World Champion Belgium Men and the surprise team of the 2019 season the Belgium Women on February 1 and 2 when they will play a dual doubleheader, with both teams playing on consecutive days, to open the new National Hockey Centre.

The following weekend, February 8 and 9, will see the reigning Olympic Gold Medallists Great Britain Women who will be looking for a bounce-back year in 2020 as they look to defend their Olympic crown. They will be joined by the Great Britain Men who made great strides in the 2019 FIH Pro League as the finished the competition in fourth place.

The festivities will then shift to Ngā Puna Wai in Christchurch when on the 15th and 16th of February the slick Spanish Men who are always a handful on the attacking end of the field, will hit our shores. In 2019 the Spanish Men and Vantage Black Sticks played out a riveting 3-3 draw in front of a captivated Auckland crowd.

The USA Women will join them in Christchurch as they look to put the disappointment of narrowly missing out on Olympic Qualification behind them and set their sights on an FIH Hockey Pro League crown. This is also a dual doubleheader weekend.

The final doubleheader weekend will be on the 28th February and 1st March when reigning Olympic Champions Argentina Men and their World Number 3 ranked Argentina Women will head to Christchurch as they look to repeat their double victory from 2019 against the Black Sticks sides.
